LOVELL - Services for Louisa Mickelson Morrison, 93, were held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2008, at the Lovell Wyoming Stake Center, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She died on Oct. 22, 2008.

Louisa Mickleson Morrison was the wife of Clarence Wilbur Morrison
Maralyn Allred

Reta Maralyn Morrison Allred passed away December 15, 2013 at her home in East Millcreek, Utah surrounded by her family. Maralyn was born August 10, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Arthur Wendell and Lydia Christensen Morrison. She graduated South High School in 1943. She married Clarence Eugene Allred on January 2, 1946 and their marriage was later solemnized in 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Mom’s greatest love was her husband, her children and their spouses and her posterity. She promoted a healthy lifestyle long before it became popular, raising her family on fresh baked whole wheat breads, home grown fruits and vegetables, low sugar and salt, homemade cookies and pies and the aroma of something delicious in the oven often greeted family and friends. Each summer her kitchen was “canning central” and she taught many of her children and grandchildren her food storage secrets. Mom always had a hot meal on the table for breakfast and dinner was promptly at 6 p.m. She knew how to balance a checkbook, get out any stain, was a skilled seamstress, could press a perfectly straight pleat, and often helped her boys deliver their early morning paper routes. For years, she supervised a small backyard chicken farm operation (the results of a son’s scout merit badge), providing fresh eggs (and chicken soup) to her family.
She encouraged her children to develop their talents and loved to watch and listen to them perform. Her favorite memories centered on trips to the Oakley “cabin’, family gathering for neighborhood Christmas caroling, holiday parties (with fireworks or donuts) and sleepovers with her grandchildren. She loved watching the snow fall in her backyard, the feel of the warm summer sun on her face, a chocolate cherry cordial and the sound of the arrival of her grandchildren through always unlocked front and back doors. Her beloved vocation was as a wife, mother, grandma and homemaker, but she also worked for Wasatch Plumbing Supply, JC Penny, Zions Bank and First Utah Bank.
Mom was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had an enduring testimony of the Savior. She set an example of generous, selfless love by often reaching out to those whom she found in need, regardless of their faith or background. She served in numerous ward and stake callings, including ward Primary and Relief Society president and was a faithful visiting teacher. She and Clarence served a mission in the Salt Lake Riverside Stake and as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple.
She is survived by her husband and their six children and spouses; Evan (Carol) Allred, Lt. Col. (ret.) Joseph (Kathy) Allred, Arnold (Gigi) Allred, Alma (Robyn) Allred, David (Julie) Allred and Lisa (Bill) Morey; a sister, Gloria (Harry) Van Soolen; a sister-in-law, BJ (Arnold W. ‘Bud’) Morrison; 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, two nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bud. She had a large number of wonderful and caring friends.

Obituary for Charles G. Morrison

Birth: Mar. 18, 1922
Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA
Death: Nov. 14, 2010 Murray, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA

Charles Grant Morrison passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, November 14, 2010 at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. He had just arrived at a practice with the Oratorio Society of Utah, one of the singing groups of which he was a member. He resided at 424 East 3400 South in South Salt Lake, Utah at the time of his death.

Grant was born March 18, 1922 to Arthur William and Esther Elizabeth (Elggren) Morrison only twenty-seven minutes after his twin brother Reed, making him the baby of eleven siblings. They always joked that they were "womb mates" and Uncle Reed was "Uncle Papa" to all of Grant's children who called Grant "Papa".

Papa loved music and singing. From the earliest age, he and Reed sang in choirs and chorales, singing countless duets at funerals and family gatherings. Grant was a lifelong member of the Swanee Singers, often performing solos, even well into his eighties. He also sang with the Utah Chorale and the Utah Symphony Chorus.

Following his graduation from South High School, he served his country in World War II, and was assigned, at one time, to a tank unit under General Patton. Later, he was selected for an Intelligence unit. He received the Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, European, African, and Middle Eastern Campaign Medals, and the Good Conduct Medal.

After his service, he attended the University of Utah, graduated Summa Cum Laude, missing valedictorian by 1/10th of 1%, and graduated with a degree in accounting. He subsequently became a CPA and practiced this profession until retirement.

He also was a lifelong tennis player, playing in leagues for the Salt Lake Tennis Club and Park City Racquet Club and winning a number of tournaments. He was invariably gracious both in winning and losing.

He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Patricia Cunnington on December 6, 1943, while in the service, and they had nine children. She passed away September 9, 2006, after sixty-three years of marriage. He later married Elizabeth Bradshaw, who has been a great comfort and companion to Papa. Both marriages have been solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Papa is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and all nine children from his first marriage: Dixie Dixon (husband Daniel, recently deceased); Bill (Dianne) Morrison; Scott (Launa) Morrison; Brian (Kathleen) Morrison; Tim (Karen) Morrison; Marilee (Gordon) Beh; Britt (Kay) Morrison; Suzie (Kevin) Woodward; and Melissa Gleave. Also, great friends Pamela Olsen, Tina Kirkham, Dick Calder, and close relatives Rachel Morrison, Jack and Jim Cumberledge, and seventy-six grandchildren and 102 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Wendell, Adrian, Francis, Clarence, and Fred, and sister, Anna Marie. Survived by twin brother Reed, and sisters Jenna Vee, and Marjorie. The eleventh sibling was a twin boy to Francis who did not survive. Also preceded in death by grandson John and great-granddaughter Halie.

The family will receive friends and relatives at a viewing on Friday evening at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 in the Riviera Ward Chapel, 601 East Mansfield Avenue (3115 South), at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing preceding the services from 1:00-1:40 p.m.
Burial will immediately follow the services in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors accorded.
