LOVELL - Services for Louisa Mickelson Morrison, 93, were held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2008, at the Lovell Wyoming Stake Center, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She died on Oct. 22, 2008.

Maralyn Allred

Reta Maralyn Morrison Allred passed away December 15, 2013 at her home in East Millcreek, Utah surrounded by her family. Maralyn was born August 10, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Arthur Wendell and Lydia Christensen Morrison. She graduated South High School in 1943. She married Clarence Eugene Allred on January 2, 1946 and their marriage was later solemnized in 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Mom’s greatest love was her husband, her children and their spouses and her posterity. She promoted a healthy lifestyle long before it became popular, raising her family on fresh baked whole wheat breads, home grown fruits and vegetables, low sugar and salt, homemade cookies and pies and the aroma of something delicious in the oven often greeted family and friends. Each summer her kitchen was “canning central” and she taught many of her children and grandchildren her food storage secrets. Mom always had a hot meal on the table for breakfast and dinner was promptly at 6 p.m. She knew how to balance a checkbook, get out any stain, was a skilled seamstress, could press a perfectly straight pleat, and often helped her boys deliver their early morning paper routes. For years, she supervised a small backyard chicken farm operation (the results of a son’s scout merit badge), providing fresh eggs (and chicken soup) to her family.

She encouraged her children to develop their talents and loved to watch and listen to them perform. Her favorite memories centered on trips to the Oakley “cabin’, family gathering for neighborhood Christmas caroling, holiday parties (with fireworks or donuts) and sleepovers with her grandchildren. She loved watching the snow fall in her backyard, the feel of the warm summer sun on her face, a chocolate cherry cordial and the sound of the arrival of her grandchildren through always unlocked front and back doors. Her beloved vocation was as a wife, mother, grandma and homemaker, but she also worked for Wasatch Plumbing Supply, JC Penny, Zions Bank and First Utah Bank.

Mom was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had an enduring testimony of the Savior. She set an example of generous, selfless love by often reaching out to those whom she found in need, regardless of their faith or background. She served in numerous ward and stake callings, including ward Primary and Relief Society president and was a faithful visiting teacher. She and Clarence served a mission in the Salt Lake Riverside Stake and as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple.

She is survived by her husband and their six children and spouses; Evan (Carol) Allred, Lt. Col. (ret.) Joseph (Kathy) Allred, Arnold (Gigi) Allred, Alma (Robyn) Allred, David (Julie) Allred and Lisa (Bill) Morey; a sister, Gloria (Harry) Van Soolen; a sister-in-law, BJ (Arnold W. ‘Bud’) Morrison; 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, two nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bud. She had a large number of wonderful and caring friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Noon at the Valley View Stake Center, 2245 East 3900 South. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. DEATH: ARTHUR W. MORRISON

Arthur Wendell Morrison, age 90, passed away February 12, 1996, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Wendell was born November 2, 1905, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Arthur William and Esther Elizabeth Elggren Morrison. He graduated from LDS High School and attended the U of U. Married Lydia Christensen on November 26, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lydia preceded him in death on March 4, 1962.Wendell later married Ina Reese Johnson on October 24, 1970. He worked as an office supply salesman, and manager of the Salt Lake Tribune in Idaho Falls, and Pocatello, Idaho. During World War II he was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad as a Fireman and Engineer. He retired from the Union Pacific in 1970. During his retirement years he again worked for Newspaper Agency Corp.

Survived by his wife, Ina, Salt Lake; two daughters and one son, Reta Maralyn (Clarence) Allred, Salt Lake; Arnold Wendell "Bud" (B.J.) Morrison, Laguna Beach, Calif.; Gloria Lee (Harry) vanSoolen, West Valley; stepson, Steven (Sue) Johnson, Ft. Myer, Florida; nine grandchildren, Evan (Carol) Allred, Ren (Kathy) Allred, Arnie (Gigi) Allred, Alma (Robyn) Allred, David (Paula) Allred, Lisa (Bill) Morey, all Salt Lake City; Arnold Wayne (Suzanne) Morrison, Delano, Calif., Mindy (George) Borghi, Los Angeles, Calif., Benjamin Lee vanSoolen, West Valley; step-grandchildren, Erin and Lauren Johnson, Ft. Myer, Florida; 27 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Clarence, Lovell, Wyo.; Fred, Reed, Grant, two sisters, JennaVee and Marjorie, all Salt Lake.

Preceded in death by his parents, a brother,Francis and a sister, Anna Marie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 1996, 2 p.m., at the Valley View 7th Ward, 2245 East 3900 South, where friends may call for one hour prior to the services.

Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Obituary: Lillian May Boss Morrison

"We Love You With All Our Hearts"

Lillian May Boss Morrison passed away peacefully August 20, 2004, in the home of her daughter, Kathy Barlow.

A joyous reunion is taking place in the eternal world between her mother and father, brothers and sisters, and her beloved daughter, Marianne. Everyone who knew her was enriched by her happy and cheerful personality. She was known by her doctors, nurses, and caregivers as "the happy one."

She was a loving wife and mother and was adored by her children and grandchildren. She was married to her eternal companion, Fred Morrison, May 3, 1940 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple June 19, 1992, where they have enjoyed 64 and one-half years of nuptial joy.

Survived by husband, Fred Morrison; son, Rick (Cherre); daughter, Kathy (Keith); son-in-law, Brian; 32 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday August 25, 2004, 3 p.m., at Wilford 2 nd

Ward 3179 So. Highland Dr. Friends may call Tuesday August 24, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn 3401 So. Highland Dr. and also one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Melba Janet James Marble Morrison, age 81, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 8, 1933, in Phoenix, Arizona to George Heber James and Norma Morris. She married the love of her life, Reed Elggren Morrison on November 9, 1990 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Janet lived life to its fullest and was loved by all who knew her. She liked to paint sceneries, do calligraphy, cook tamales and grandpa’s pozole, walk in the woods and travel. During kidney dialysis she enjoyed viewing TV news and cooking shows. She travelled to England, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and Sweden. She loved the Lord and her church. She served in numerous church callings including ward chorister, Primary teacher and a mission to the Church Family History Library.

She is predeceased by her first husband Norman D. Marble; infant sister, Jacalyn Sue James; sons Allyn Dean Marble, Teryl Brett Marble and Kevin James Marble. She was the first of seven children. She is survived by her three children: Danyl Lynn Marble (Janna), Robin Scott Marble (Mary) and Colin Wayne Marble; three step-children: Steve Morrison, Denny Morrison (Susan) and Patti Jennings (Jerry); daughter-in-laws Marleen Marble and Lena Nyberg Marble; 26 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Heber James (Quola); sisters, Judith Gayle Ronnow, Joyce Elaine Williams (Gene), Jeanne Ann Despain (Allan) and Josephine Foutz (Don); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at IMC Hospital and CareSource Hospice for their extreme kindness and hospitality.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Midvale East 4th Ward Chapel, 87 E. 7100 S. Midvale. Friends may visit the family at a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy and on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.

Wife of Reed Elggren Morrison

Jenna Vee Esther Morrison Hammon (Jean Bruce) peacefully left this life November 3, 2011 in Colorado City, AZ, surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born February 4, 1913 to Esther Elizabeth Elggren and Arthur William Morrison in Salt Lake City, Utah.  

Jenna Vee's childhood was spent in the Richfield area and her young adult life in Salt Lake City.  She was actively involved in musical and theatrical circles and was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
In 1937 Jenna Vee married Sherman R. Lloyd.  Born of this union was her son Michael.  June 18, 1940 she married J. Marion Hammon and together they raised Helen, Rebecca, Esther, Arthur, Christine, and Elaine.  
Jenna Vee dearly loved her family and the gospel and will be missed by many loved ones.  She is preceded in death by her husband, J.M., and daughter, Rebecca, and survived by her brother, Reed Morrison, and sister, Marjorie Holm.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 12:00 noon MST at the Centennial Park Chapel.  A viewing will be held at the chapel Saturday, November 5, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M, and again Sunday, November 6, from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Interment will be in the Hammon Family Memorial Park in Colorado City.
